Nisha Vasavada

Director of Instruction (Special Projects)

Nisha Vasavada is a Director of Instruction at Attuned Education Partners.  Previously, Nisha was the founding principal of KIPP Pueblo Unido Upper school from 2020-2022 in Southeast Los Angeles, and selected as a Fisher fellow with KIPP from 2018-2020.

In its first year of founding, the school operated 100% over Zoom, and students grew 23% in Math standards mastery and 18% in reading on grade level.  In its second year, 80% of students made growth in reading, with 75% of Special Education students and 88% of EL students making reading growth.

Before founding Pueblo, Nisha was a Principal-in-Residence,  Academic Dean and teacher at Achievement First Bushwick Middle School in Brooklyn for five years, where she drove school wide Math results of 90% of students earning proficient or advanced scores on the New York state exam in 2018; in 2019 the school was honored a National Blue Ribbon award.  Nisha taught 7th-9th grade Math in Harlem as part of the New York City Teaching Fellowship for career changers, while earning her Masters of Science in Education from St. John’s University.

Prior to becoming a teacher, she spent two years with Deloitte Consulting, where she supported in improving the operational efficiency of financial institutions.  Nisha holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University.
