Carlin Rosa is a Manager of Academics at Attuned Education Partners. She brings early literacy and bilingual experience and knowledge to the team. Prior to joining Attuned, Carlin was an elementary literacy curriculum specialist at Denver Public Schools. In this role, she created high quality professional learning and curricular resources to support the shift to the science of reading. These resources aided school systems in changing their practices to be able to implement foundational skills lessons, analyze and interpret foundational skills data and observe foundational skills lessons to strengthen teacher practice.
Throughout her time in DPS, she has been an advocate for multilingual learners and built teachers’ capacity in supporting and growing MLLs reading and oral language skills. She led the district’s approach to biliteracy foundational skills in which bilingual teachers had resources to provide explicit systematic foundational skills instruction in both Spanish and English. She’s also supported the adoption and implementation of curricular resources aligned to the science of reading for both school year and summer programming at DPS.
Before stepping into her elementary curriculum specialist role, she was a literacy coach, where she observed, coached, and evaluated a caseload of teachers to improve instructional practices in language & literacy. Carlin began her career as a bilingual teacher, in which students received high growth in literacy assessments.
Carlin holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, Dominican Republic.
