Anjya Thomas is a Deputy Chief Academic Officer at Attuned Education Partners. Anjya brings with her almost two decades of experience closing the opportunity gap. Previously, Anjya served as the Chief Curriculum and Instruction Officer at Ascend Public Charter Schools in Brooklyn, New York. In that role, Anjya led the design and implementation of Ascend’s unique curriculum, instruction, assessment in grades K-12 and the professional development of all instructional leaders, principals, and principal managers.
Previously, Anjya served as the managing director of mathematics and science, where she designed and implemented a new framework for inquiry-based instruction, which led to a network-wide 40-point gain on state assessments. Anjya has also served as a Principal, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, and middle school math teacher at Uncommon Schools.
Anjya started her career in education in Washington, D.C. Anjya holds an M.Ed. from Hunter College and a B.A. in History with a concentration in the Latin Diaspora from Williams College. She is also a graduate of the National Principals Academy Fellowship.
