Sara Wortinger is a Deputy Chief of Academics at Attuned Education Partners. She brings more than a decade of experience in urban and rural education, with a specialization in early literacy and the science of reading.
Sara got her start teaching elementary literacy in the Mississippi Delta with Teach for America where she led her students to double-digit gains in literacy proficiency for each of her three years there. Prior to joining Attuned, Sara led the Elementary Literacy Department at Denver Public Schools (DPS) for six years. In this role, she orchestrated the transformation of early literacy instruction through the creation of high quality curriculum and professional learning for teachers, school leaders, and district superintendents. This work increased proficiency rates by 8.2% in English Language Arts and 11.1% in Spanish Language Arts. She also brings coaching experience from her time as a Teacher Development Coach with TNTP and a Teacher Effectiveness Coach in DPS.
Sara earned her B.S. in Entrepreneurship and Management from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
