Why We Exist
Our experienced practitioners combine empathy and rigor to help PK-12 systems and leaders become well aligned and well equipped to deliver breakthrough outcomes for all students—especially those farthest from opportunity.
Too many schools and school systems never fulfill their potential. PK-12 leaders often lack the time to prioritize and plan, don’t have access to effective tools and strategies, and are presented with false choices — districts or charter schools, traditional or progressive pedagogy, rigorous academics or social-emotional support. Meanwhile, kids living in poverty, children of color, and other PK-12 students continue to be shortchanged.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
As former teachers, principals, and system leaders from some of the nation’s most effective districts and charter school organizations, we understand—firsthand—that the work is difficult, but that extraordinary public school outcomes are possible. We don’t subscribe to extremes or one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, we identify and synthesize effective practices from a diverse set of proven models, and we help our partner organizations tailor and integrate solutions that make sense for their contexts—blending rigor and empathy, planning and implementation, district and charter expertise, and aspirations of quality and scale.
